Ingredients for 8 pieces
8 dates
8 thin slices of bacon
8 toothpicks
Wrap the date (preferably pitted) in the bacon
and secure with the toothpick.
Place the dates on a plate and put in the microwave
for one or two minutes. If you do not have a microwave you can
carefully fry them in a frying pan.
Let them sit for several minutes, place them on
a plate and serve while still warm.

In a bowl beat the cottage cheese with salt, pepper, and the spices
of your choice. (mint is good)
With a pastry tube make rosettes on the salted
crackers.
Finally sprinkle with spicey paprika and adorn
with a caper or slice of olive

Ingredients for 7 canapés

portions of soft white cheese
1 pinch ground black pepper
1 sprig parsley
½ cup grated cheese
7 slices white sandwich bread
Method of preparation
In a dish put the soft cheese, pepper, and the finely
chopped parsley
Place in the oven until the cheese is melted enough
to mix well with the pepper and parsley. Blend thouroughly.
With the rim of a glass cut circles from the bread.
Spread the bread ring with the melted cheese.
Cover with the grated cheese. .
Place in the oven at 300°F until the grated
cheese melts and the bread becomes crisp. Some 5 minutes.
Garlic

This sirves to acompamy any meal, very good
for snacking, hors d’voueres etc. It is inexpensive, easy
to prepare and will disappear before you know it.
Ingredients
1 loaf French bread
2 garlic cloves
1 sprig parsley
1/3 cup olive oil
1 pinch of salt.
Slice the bread lengthwise and open.
In a mortar place the pinch of salt, the sliced
cloves of garlic, and the parsley.
Grind this together with the pestle.
Add the oil and mix well.
Spread the mixture on the bread.
Close the loaf and wrap in aluminum foil.
Place in a medium oven for 10 minutes. Wait until it cools a little, not too much,
slice, put on a plate and serve.
